Amman United,   22 December 1990
The West Wales team proved a tougher nut to crack than expected although there was never any threat of an upset. Amman had obviously done their homework as they snuffed out the threat of cente Roger Bidgood with some committed tackling. A Kevin Withey try followed at the end of the half by an Alan Carter try going over from a rolling maul put Newport into a 10pt lead at half-time. Fred Sagoe and replacement Phil Booth both pounced for second half tries.
