The Times of 2nd March 1927 simply reported that:-

"PARIS, MARCH 1. - The Newport Rugby football team were beaten at the Colombe Stadium here to-day by the Racing Club de France XV, by 17 points to 6."

The same edition of the newspaper also reported the Wales team selection for the forthcoming Ireland v Wales match in Dublin on 12th March 1927, the team including G. Andrews and H. Phillips of Newport.
