From the match programme:-
"Club Notes"
"The Visitors"
"There could be no better start to the holiday games than the visit of Newport to the Stradey to-day. So far they are unbeaten, having won all their matches - 15 altogether, a wonderful record. It is unfortunate that the second Welsh Trial match is being held to-day with the result that both sides will be weakened by the absence of their stars. Newport have two players in the Trial and their Skipper and Welsh International, Ken Jones is in Ireland playing with Carl Mullen's XV. Llanelly have five players in the Trial. This is bound to take a little interest from the game, but one thing we are certain of, that to-day's game will be a titanic struggle. Newport all out to preserve their record and the Scarlets equally determined to be the first team to lower the colours of Newport. The Scarlets are proud of their ability to rise to the occasion on their own ground and home supporters are confident that they will do the trick to-day. Good luck to both teams and may the better side win."
"Membership"
"We have achieved our aim this season of having a membership of 1,000. This is a record - the highest membership ever. We are indeed proud of this achievement."
"Wining Programme for Llanelly v. Neath game, December 9th, 1950 was 572."
