From the match programme:-

"NOTES."

"Welcome to Newport, the only unbeaten side in the country, with 17 wins in a row."

"Both sides are hit by the calls of the Final Welsh Trial, but this makes very little difference to Newport whose United team are not very far behind the ist XV and, I believe I am correct in saying, have not been defeated for several seasons. In fact, I have heard it said that they are almost as good as the Newport 1st XV."

"However, Services also have some good substitutes and are much more fortunate in this respect than in previous seasons. Where we always seem to lose deal this season is in the lack of size in the scrum, as in no game so far have we been able to approach the weight of our opponents."

"Whatever the result is to-day a first-class game is assured as Newport always provide first-class football."

"Next Home Match - January 27th - 1st XV. v. Guys Hospital."

"The matches with Exeter, on January 20th, have been reversed and the 1st XV will again be away."

"Note. -  An article, with photograph on the Club, will be appearing in The Tatler on Wednesday, January I7th."
