From the match programme:-
"There is no doubt that everyone interested in Rugby has been looking forward to to-day's game. We are delighted to welcome to Beacon Park such a famous team as Newport. They have over many seasons now maintained a wonderful playing record and they are renowned for playing first-class rugby. It is perhaps unfortunate that to-day's game should clash with the Wales v. France International, and that stars like Malcolm Thomas, Ken Jones and Billy Williams will not be appearing, but such is the strength of the Club that they possess first-class deputies. One calls to mind, the corresponding game last season when we came very near to beating their all-conquering side, losing by only 0 points to 5 points. That day Albion played the "game of their life." We hope to-day for a similar close encounter."
"Last Saturday we were rather unlucky to be beaten by 13 points to nil by the Services and certainly should have obtained a lead in the first half, but the Services took all their chances and for that reason deserved their win. We congratulate L. Gibbs, D. Bowden, P. Luffman. L. Semmens, L. Williams, A. Wood and N. Clarke, who have been selected for the Devon Albion XV against the Presidents' XV at the Rectory on Wednesday, March 26th (kick-off 5.30)."
"The Stand Fund is now at £364. We still need more money to reach our target. Will you please help by giving a donation to the Hon. Treasurer."
"It may not be generally known that the Club, has a very attractive Blazer Badge in Hold wire which can be worn by all playing and former playing members. Details can be obtained from the Hon. Secretary."
"SUPPORTERS' CLUB NOTES"
"It has been suggested that the Supporters' Club should organise a Coach Trip to Sidmouth on April 30th. when Albion are playing an evening game there. Will those who would like this trip to be run, please contact any of the Supporters' Club Committee and give in their names, so that we shall know if there are sufficient numbers to warrant a coach being booked. The Sidmouth Supporters' Club have arranged a dance after the game and hope to have a grand get-together with us to wind up the season. So if you would like to go, please let us know quickly, so that we can go ahead with the necessary arrangements."
"We hope that all supporters will give the team the utmost encouragement to-day. They always put up a good show against the best opposition, so lets show them that we are really behind them and so help them to pull out that little extra that makes all the difference."
"LADIES' SUPPORTERS' COMMITTEE NOTES"
"The Ladies' Committee are holding a Whist Drive every Wednesday afternoon at Beacon Park, commencing at 2.30 p.m., in an endeavour to raise funds for Stand Reconstruction, and we shall be glad of all the support we can get."

"Tea is served after Saturday games in the Ladies' Room at a small charge. Once again we shall be very pleased to see members, friends and guests."

Deposits taken on all seats, and weekly or monthly payments until the dates willingly collected. Please give us your names for any or all trips at your earliest convenience.
