From the match programme:-

"Club News"

"TO-NIGHT we welcome our friends from Newport on their annual visit to the County Ground. This last two years they have made many friends in the City and we are always pleased to see them here."

"We remember the thrilling game we had last season and to-night I hope we shall see yet another good exhibition of open rugger played in the right spirit. They certainly made a good start to their tour by winning easily at Beacon Park last Saturday and have brought a very powerful side with them."

"Do not forget the time of kick-off for the Cathedral Fund game next Monday evening which is at 5.30 p.m. The Deputy Mayor and the Sheriff will attend and be presented to the players before the game."

"Next Saturday the " A " Team are at home to Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton. We have the best " A " team fielded since the war and they are having a very successful season."
