"NOTES"
"On September 26th we travelled West to the St. Helens ground full of confidence to play our eighth game of the season, with a record of six wins and one draw to our credit. The revitalised Swansea XV, after several years in the doldrums halted us in no mean fashion, winning by 24pts to 12pts. We as a club are pleased that proud Swansea are again taking their rightful place in Welsh Rugby. Besides our scalp they have humbled Cardiff and their near neighbours Llanelli and as recent as last Saturday, with Welsh Trial calls and several players absent through injury and sickness they went to Pontypool and won 17pts to nil. We are keen to reverse our defeat, but are conscious of the fact that the All Whites, are hungry for the double."
"Last season on this ground we won 35pts to 8pts and by the narrow margin of 11pts to 9pts we managed to complete the double at St. Helens. Both teams today have had a fair measure of success this season, yet could supply just one player each for the Final Welsh Trial last Saturday, so the strengths rest in good solid team work. This points to a well-matched game this afternoon."
"After two disappointing postponements due to the freezing weather we are faced with the problem of fitting in, at some later date, our home game with Ebbw Vale and the away game with Bridgend."
"At the time of going to print the composition of the Welsh XV to face England next Saturday has not been announced, but on the evidence of the players already reviewed in the Trials, the selectors have few problems. Any doubts they might have had would have been resolved last Wednesday night had the Monmouthshire v. Glamorgan game been played, but unfortunately our ground was too hard."
"The first half of the season is now behind us and we wish John Jeffery and his team continued success in the hard games ahead of them."
"Next Saturday is a blank day for club rugby and our next game will be at Ebbw Vale the following Monday. Our next home game will be on the 23rd when Llanelli will be our visitors."
