"NOTES"
"Since our last home game against Penygraig, we have had two excellent victories away against Bridgend, last year's Champions and a much improved Swansea XV. These successes put us on top of the Merit Table for the first time this season. Our narrow defeat at Stradey Park last Saturday, our first reverse in thirteen games, altered two placings in the Merit Table, putting Llanelli on top and leaving us in second place with our visitors today from Neath breathing down our necks in third place and with a game in hand."
"Last season against Neath we won 11pts. to 8pts. on this ground but we lost at The Gnoll 16pts. to 3pts. In mid-September this season we were trounced by the All Blacks to the tune of 49pts. to 16pts. This was a week after our surrender to Bristol 41pts. to 19pts. We have put those performances behind us and have avenged the Bristol defeat with interest so today we are hoping to turn the tables on Neath."
"Last Saturday Neath won at Nuneaton, making it their 14th consecutive game without defeat. Dave Morris the Neath flanker earned his 23rd consecutive cap against England a few weeks ago. In the pack with him is Wilson Lauder a Scottish international who is travelling reserve against Wales at the Arms Park next Saturday."
"Our victory last Tuesday evening over Brynmawr at the Welfare Ground, Ebbw Vale, puts us into the next round of the W.R.U Challenge Cup. The draw takes place next Monday."
"On Monday week we are home to Bridgend."
"Please make a note of this Year's Annual Club Dinner and Dance which will be held on Friday, 17th March."
