From the match programme:-

"FROM THE COACH"

"Welcome to tonight's match against Cross Keys."

"As always though a warm welcome is extended to the players and supporters who have made the short trip from Cross Keys for tonight's game."

"After the frustration of the postponed games over the Christmas period, it's great to be back at Rodney Parade. Despite the cancellation of last week's game I think we got the staleness from the festive period out of our systems at Merthyr and Bedwas so we're ready for tonight's match."

"Today's game is obviously very important for us to consolidate our position in the league. But more than that, we have our home record to maintain. This is a game on our own patch and we want to perform well and get the result for our supporters. We have a full, fit squad and are in good shape for this match."

"Games against regional rivals are always going to be a well-fought thing. Cross Keys are always up for their games against Newport, be it at Rodney Parade or Pandy Park and I'm sure tonight will be no exception."

"Enjoy the game."

"A Tribute to Mostyn"

"Mostyn Brown, a stalwart Black and Amber Supporter passed away on Sat January 23rd 2010 over the weekend. Mostyn was the Baggage Master for Newport RFC for many years. Sadly Mostyn suffered with his heath in recent years."

"Mostyn was baggage master when Newport last won the cup in 2001. He will be sadly missed and we send condolences to his family."

"There will be a minute's silence before today's match as a mark of respect to Mostyn and his family."
