From the match programme:-
"NOTES"
"After a period of 3.15 p.m. starts, and evening games, we can now revert to the 3.30 p.m. kick-off on this our first Saturday afternoon home game in 1963. We have played seven matches since the freeze-up, three at home and four away, resulting in five wins, one drawn and one lost."
"All who witnessed the Wednesday night floodlight game with Cardiff were highly delighted with the football served-up and appetites were whetted, so like Oliver Twist we ask for more."
"Our visitors from Neath today are challenging strongly for the Welsh Unofficial Championship. They have the Welsh full-back Graham Hodgson who can turn the fortunes of the game with his accurate boot. They boast a big young pack. On 15th September we played at the Gnoll and a pointless draw was the outcome."
"We show three changes from the side that played last Wednesday night. Ray Cheney has had his transfer from Pontypool, so will be at full-back in place of Barry Edwards. Bob Prosser reports fit so he will resume his partnership with David Watkins. This popular young inside-half played sixty consecutive games for the 1st XV before missing the Cardiff match. He played his first game on 25th November, 1961, against the Exiles in London and completed the season with twenty-nine appearances. He played also in two friendly games against Crosskeys and Bridgend and was in the victorious “Sevens” side. This season he played in the first thirty-one games. Neville Johnson, who had to stand down with a heavy cold, comes back to the front row in place of Roger Taylor. Andy Morgan, a local boy, now up at Oxford University, made his first appearance in the centre last Wednesday and he came out of his baptism of fire with flying colours and thoroughly justifies his place alongside Brian Jones today."
"Next Thursday we are away to Swansea to play the game that was postponed on 12th January. Next Saturday we are home to Bridgend and on the following Monday we meet Ebbw Vale, also on this ground, this is a re-arranged game postponed on 7th January."
