First ever official Newport Captain in 1875/6 and 1876/7 - both invincible seasons P10 W8 D 2 for both seasons at the Marshes. In 1876/7 he was transferred by the National Provincial Bank and Will Phillips took over for remainder of season and also the following season 1877/8 and the club moved to the Athletic Grounds. Also played in first ever Newport match at Cardiff vs Glamorgan RFC April 5th 1875.
