Born 9 Jan 1952 at Abercarn. Ex-Gwent Schools, Cwmcarn Youth, South Mon Youth, Crumlin (2 seasons). Joined Cardiff in 1975 for 5 seasons where he shared hooking duties with Alan Phillips. Welsh Trial 1977 and toured with Welsh Team to Australia in 1979. Chosen 13 times as replacement hooker. Wales B 1976, 1979 and 1983(capt). (With Cardiff 1975-81 and played against NZ and Australia and won Wales B caps in 1976 and 1979). Captained Newport 1983/4,1984/5, 1985/6 (incl losing Cup Final vs Cardiff), 1986/7 and Wales in his only 4 appearances in 1984 before he resigned. Played for Barbarians, Crawshays and Monmouthshire. Only second Newport player ever to make 50 1st team appearances in a season - in 1982/3. (Peter Rees 51 in 1967/8) Debut vs Cardiff (H) Oct 3rd 1981.
