Played for Cross Keys and won 8 caps for Wales. Moved to Newport RFC for 1926-27 to 1930-31 where he won 1 further cap. Was the first Welshman to score a try at Murrayfield (6th February 6 1926, Scotland 8 v 5 Wales). Uncle of John.
Described by W. J. T. Collins in his book "Rugby Recollections" as " .... fast, brainy, clever with hands and feet, was the best of the Welsh forwards against England in 1926."
