Educated Caerleon Training College. Played for Newport RFC 1952-53 to 1961-62. First ever winner of Arthur Boucher Trophy in 1952-53. Newport captain in 1957-58. Also played for Bedwas, Loughborough, Leicester, RAF (played against Newport 7th February 1962 at Rodney Parade and in same match Alec Murphy, St Helens Rugby League also played!) Combined Services, and London Welsh. Played 5 times for Wales 1954 (1) and 1956 (4). Captained Newport in win over 1957 Australians and scored a try. Teacher then career in RAF, promoted from Squadron Leader to Wing Commander 1979, retired from Services in 1986.
