Born 28 Feb 1857, Newport. Founder member of Newport RFC ? playing in 1st ever full season 1875/6. Played in Wales? 1st ever international vs England Feb 1881 Won 10 Welsh caps (6 as capt) 1881-1887. Captained Newport 1882/3. His way of beating an opponent apparently was to come to an abrupt stop and stare hypnotically into their eyes and then speed away! Played for Newport 1875/6- 1886/7. Died Lucerne, Switzerland 28 Sept 1922.
