Member of Pill Harriers invincible team of 1919. Played 1918-19 to 1920-21. 4 Welsh caps (1t/2p/1c/2dg) including 16pts (2dg/1c/1p/1t) vs England in 1920 at Swansea (Wales 19 v 5 England).

Fine athlete, swimmer and boxer who fought Ted 'Kid' Lewis and Johnnie Basham (ex-welter champion)- won on points.

Joined Wigan rugby league in December 1921 for then record fee of 700 pounds - making his debut on Christmas Day 1921.

Died suddenly in June 1947 a few days after his old centre partner Ernie Hammett died.
