Educated Cardiff High School and Cardiff University. Played for Newport RFC 1965-66 to 1968. Joined from Glamorgan Wanderers 1965-66. Vice captain 1967-68, taking over captaincy after David Watkins joined Salford Rugby League. Captained British Universities in 1968. Strong / powerful / fast forward with good hands. Tragically killed in road traffic accident December 1968 near Banbury where he had been working. Almost certainly would have played for Wales. Martin Webber Memorial Bowl donated to club by family and given to Clubman of the Year. Played in 3 v 3 draw vs Australia in 1966. Debut for Newport RFC 15th September 1965 vs Pontypool at Rodney Parade (Won 15 v 9) and last appearance at Stradey Park on 30th November 1968(Won 0 v 9).
