"Veats" has played for Welsh Crawshays, Blackwood and Cross Keys. Matt played for Blackwood from U12 to age 24 years and played 3 seasons without missing a game. He joined Newport in 2002-03 and made 17 appearances. First appearance for Newport RFC vs Toulouse in Heineken Euro Cup, October 18th 2002 (Lost 19 v 34). Newport RFC captain 2004-05 & vice-capt 2005-06. Made his 100th appearance for Newport in 2005-06. Joined Cardiff RFC 2008-09.
