Educated at Bassaleg Grammar School. Joined Newport in 1996 from Newport HSOB. Captained Wales U21 in 1999-2001. Joined Leed Tykes 2002-03 and won first Welsh cap vs Barbarians May 2003. World Cup with Wales in New Zealand 2003.

Played for Newport RFC 1998-99 to 2002-03.

Later joined Llanelli Scarlets and then Brive. Brother Marc also played for Newport.
