1975 saw a disappointing crowd of 12,000 at the National Stadium but the teams no longer seemed to take the tournament seriously and this was shown by the fact that only 4 international players turned up and one was Englishman Martin Cooper of Moseley. Newport beat Ebbw Vale in the first round and then led 16-0 at HT against Moseley but then managed to lose 16-18. Maesteg beat Pontypool 18-10 and this was only their 3rd ever victory in 22 yrs. Bridgend beat Penarth 12-0 in one S/F while Cardiff beat Moseley 18-6 in the other. Bridgend easily won the final 32-12 but Cardiff’s Stuart Lane won the Everson Award.
