So what is this site all about?
Well it's about Newport RFC, more specifically its history. The club has been in existence for over 130 years and in that time it has achieved many great things. However, that information is not readily available, especially online. A group of people have got together under the guidance of the Friends of Newport Rugby Trust to change all that. The aim is to create the most comprehensive knowledgebase about the History of Newport RFC on the web. This effort is completely voluntary and is expected to take many years to complete.
The Project
Phase 1 of the project was to create a full website which included summary information of
every season (1874-2004) of Newport RFC's history plus information concerning all of the
club's international players and match summaries of all the fixtures involving Newport RFC
against touring teams.
Phase 2 will endeavour to create a database incorprating more detail about each season
and the associated matches. We are looking to capture information about all players, officials,
matches, seasons and much more. This should make it a comprehensive oracle for everything
about Newport RFC. If you have any information we could use, then please let us know!

How you can help
We are particularly looking for information/photographs of past players and matches
that will add to the interest of the website. In fact, any type of memorabilia including
programmes, tickets, jerseys, cigarette cards or interesting stories.
If you think you have anything that could be used please contact FONR using the details above.
Join the Trust
If you are unable to offer photos or any other memorabilia and would still like to help us
with the History of Newport RFC website then please consider joining the Friends of Newport Rugby Trust.
By doing so will help raise money for the funding of this project and many others.
