Once again in 1907-08 Newport could not beat Cardiff or Swansea but the season was still successful with only 8 defeats - 1 to Cardiff and 3 to Swansea.
Charlie Pritchard was injured and vice-capt Tommy Vile took over the captaincy for the last 14 matches. The season started well with big wins over Penarth and Old Merchant Taylors. Stanley H. Williams came into the team at wing on 19th November 1907 having previously played Association football. He played fullback in April and ended up as top scorer with 9t and 3p. It was only later that he was to play regularly at fullback with remarkable success becoming a British Lion in 1910.
Duncan Hodges scored 11t with A. Melville Baker 9t. George Boots and Ernie Jenkins played in most matches at 31 with Beddoe Thomas, Fred Birt and Stanley Williams each playing 30.
