1900-01 saw Llewellyn Lloyd continue as captain and the team reaped the rewards of the previous season's team building to secure their third best ever season with only 2 defeats to Swansea (A) and Cardiff (H) having remained unbeaten till 16th February 1901.

D. J. Boots (fullback), Cliff Pritchard and Beddoe Thomas played a major part in the team's success and only 46 points were conceded. The success was in spite of a long list of injuries to a number of players including Lou Phillips whose career ended.

David J. Boots, H. G. Alexander, Mat Price, Johnny Williiams, Jehoida Hodges, A. G. Brown, Beddoe Thomas, Cliff Pritchard, Trevor Beard, Joe Jenkins, A. W. Walker and Tom Pearson were all injured or ill during the season. Only Ll. Lloyd, George Boots and W. H. Williams did not have to stand down after Christmas. Tom Pearson stood out as one of the finest ever three-quarters and George Boots as one of the top forwards. W. H. 'Billy' Williams played all 28 matches with Ll. Lloyd and George Boots missing just 1 match at 27 games.
