Tommy Vile continued as captain in 1910-11 but the team showed a number of changes. A. Melville Baker and Phil Waller remained in South Africa after the British Lions tour while Jack P. Jones and Harold Jarman returned to Pontypool . Later W. Webb a promising forward returned from Pill Harriers while the famous Pill forwards George Travers and Ike Williams also played for Newport as did Archie Bell. Travers, a remarkable scrummager and hooker had played many times for Wales including the famous 1905 match vs New Zealand and made an immediate impact. W P 'Billy' Geen looked the most promising player in Wales and scored 10 tries and a dropped goal from just 14 appearances before going to Oxford where he won his Blue. He was also reserve wing and centre for Wales and later was to win his cap.

Half backs Walter Martin (38) and Tommy Vile (37) made most appearances while Fred Birt was leading scorer with 13 tries, 5 penalties and 6 dropped goals. George Hirst scored 12 tries and Reg Plummer 11.
