Captain Malcolm Thomas missed half the 1954-55 season with a broken leg and Doug Ackerman took over. Malcolm Thomas played tremendously well when he returned while Roy Burnett and Brace were probably the best half-backs in the country. Brian Jones and John Roblin performed well at centre resulting in Ken Jones scoring 21t and John Lane 23t.

Front row Gordon Keeley, Bryn Meredith, Graham Price, second row Hancock, Ford and back row Gordon Morris, Doug Ackerman, Geoff Whitson played consistently well. John Lane led the appearances on 40 followed by Ackerman on 39.

Ken Jones and Bryn Meredith (also picked for British Lions to South Africa) played all 4 games for Wales while Garfield Owen played in 2 games. John Hancock joined from Cross Keys on leaving the army and played 2 games for England.
