Several records were set in 1958-59. Roy Burnett broke George Boots' appearance record with 372 and retired. Gethin Evans dropped 11 goals and beat Arthur Gould's record from the 1890's. Malcolm Thomas struggled with his form but still won two more caps and was picked (with Bryn Meredith) for the Lions tour to New Zealand/Australia.
John Phillips came out of retirement when Bryn Meredith fell ill and then young Graham Bevan stepped in. New wing Clive Lewis was leading try scorer with 28 and once again Norman Morgan was leading points scorer with 130pts. Brian Cresswell missed just one match and made 41 appearances while Brian Jones made 40.
